MATSEC Examination Board

University of Malta Coat of ArmsThe Matriculation and Secondary Education Certificate (MATSEC) Examinations Board was established in 1991 by the Senate and the Council of the University of Malta. The Board was entrusted with the development of an examination system to replace the GCE Ordinary and Advanced level examinations set by UK examination boards. The new board also took over the function of the Matriculation Board which also used to set examinations at Ordinary and Advanced level in a number of subjects.

What we offer for MATSEC ( also London & Oxford)

Here at Tarxien Computer Private Lessons and Courses I offer all the IT related subjects for MATSEC

Do I have to be 16 to obtain a Computer Related O'Level?

The simple answer to this question is "NO", One of the major problems with the MATSEC examinations is that the student must be at least 16 years of age at the time of the examination. This means that in the standard school system the child is in Form 5. Hence, this means that your child will probably be attempting all the examinations necessary for entry to Junior College at the same time. This might prove too much for your child putting an enormous amount of strain and hindering the probability of getting good grades, if passing at all.
Junior College accepts both London and Oxford Computer related examinations for thier entry requirments and the syllabi are quite similar to the MATSEC examinations.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BE AT FORM 5 TO START GEARING UP FOR JUNIOR COLLEGE.
